This was the first lesion study in humans with lesions limited to the DLPFC (area 46 of Brodmann), i.e. in the middle frontal gyrus, and report of the spectrum of abnormalities existing in all usual saccade paradigms, suggesting a decisional role of this area in ocular motor behaviour. In addition, the authors provide a useful comparison with abnormalities observed after pure FEF lesions.
