The anthracene derivative 15 does not withstand chromatographic purification, thus isolation can be only achieved by precipitation and sublimation.

45. The polymeric material spontaneously precipitated upon cooling of the reaction mixture is only partially soluble in THF, chloroform and dichloromethane. The soluble part was characterized by GPC and NMR. The insoluble fraction was only characterized by solid state NMR.
