Excellent review of antihistamines and precautions in their use. As a result of roundtable discussions from experts in the field, this article has validated use as a practice guideline.

This article's interesting feature lies in its departure from the standard beliefs on sedating side effects of diphenhydramine. However, care should be taken in evaluating this study, as a predominance of literature would support the contrary.

Pediatrics 2004; 113:e116-e120. Use of an objective measure of concentration to evaluate the pediatric population. This article makes the important point that a visual analog scale alone may miss the adverse effects of a medication.

Well designed study. Important in that it provides information on safety in a patient population that is often understudied.

J Allergy Clin Immunol 2004; 114:838-844. Relevant not only for its quality of life assessment, this article also provides data on cost reduction for treatment of allergic rhinitis, an important consideration.
