27. 2 will show that the solution is located in a minimum when each parameter is varied. For the four parameter fit used here, however, this is not observed, which suggests that there are correlations between the parameters and that the amplitude and time-constant parameters are not completely independent. The uncertainties listed for the parameters do not reflect the fact that there are other parameter combinations that will describe the data equally as well.
