    • In our experiment, no feature was seen in the magnetotransport data at the magnetic field corresponding to ν = 1. For the 2DEG in GaAs, the energy splitting between the spin-up and spin-down states is known to be much smaller than hbar ωc. In the presence of the strong disorder, the splitting is therefore expected to be unresolved.
