10. The fluctuations in the boundaries are markedly smaller than those observed by BAM in 6-fold star defects of fatty acids and their esters. (See, e.g.: Rivière, S.; Hénon. S.; Meunier, J. Phys. Rev. E 1994, 49, 1375.) The boundaries also appear sharp in BAM images, but there may also be quenching of the fluctuations by the substrate.
11. We have obtained images without flaws, but as noted below it is instructive to examine the behavior of the scratch.
