    • Round halos have been observed before in the context of ultracold collisions by A. Chikkatur et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 85, 483 (2000). These authors describe how a Bose condensate falling due to gravity generates an s-wave collisional halo when the condensate velocity relative to impurities is larger than the superfluid velocity. The halo in this work is due to an entirely different effect.
