    • VRS is fundamentally an extension of RTK using three RS. Pseudo range correction of a rover is calculated at center facility by the interpolation of error correction of the three RS according to the distance from each RS to the rover. Because it is necessary to input the rover position measured by GPS to the center for the interpolation, bi-directional communication such as cellular phone is inevitable at VRS.

    • Total station (TS) is an instrument used by surveyors consisting of a transit -an instrument to measure the angle by optical telescope - and a laser instrument to measure the distance to the measuring points. This method is useful in places where GPS satellites are obscured by obstacles such as high buildings.
