1. Polymethyl methacrylate or PMMA is also known under the trade names plexiglass, lucite, and acrylic. The properties of a polymer vary somewhat with the manufacturing process. The shock experiments of most interest in this paper used Rohm and Haas type II UVA plexiglass.
