    • The structure and stoichiometry of our nano-particulate sample departs markedly from those of a typical Co-ferite. A rough estimate of particle size, d, in terms of spinel lattice constants (1.e.≥8 Å), yields d≤,2 I.c., which raises the question of phase stability at this scale. Consequently, the description of the magnetic properties of our samples in terms of surface spin disorder, as in the case of structurally and compositionally well defined Co-ferites, is not applicable.
