    • Initial distribution of the excited n = 1 IPS electrons is not necessarily thermal, rather it is given by the excitation probability. Moreover, due to the low density of excited electrons, they do not interact with each other and the thermal distribution establishes only upon thermalization with the substrate and the adsorbate. Higher values of temperature have a maeaning of the average energy per electron.
