    • The Russian Federation consists of 7 federal Okrugs. The North-West Okrug has its administrative center in St. Petersburg and has borders within the Baltic Sea catchment area to Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Belarus. It consists of 11 smaller regions, or Oblasts. Several of these regions such as Leningrad, Pskov, and Kaliningrad are important Baltic pollution areas.
