    • In this approximation, the third and higher order spatial derivatives are systematically neglected in the equation of motion for the tidal force. This is a generalization of the Zel’dovich approximation, and accuracies of these local approximations are examined for spheroidal configurations by Hui and Bertschinger

This is a generalization of the Zel’dovich approximation, and accuracies of these local approximations are examined for spheroidal configurations by Hui and Bertschinger 17. It is also worth noticing that the choice of approximation scheme does not change our basic idea in this paper and many of them give similar results.
