Zinc powder (0.23 g, 3.52 mmol) was added to a solution of bistrifluoromethanesulfonimide (1.51 g, 5.39 mmol) in 9.0 mL of deionized water, and the resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 4 h. The mixture was filtered to remove excess zinc. The water was removed in vacuum and the crude was dried under vacuum at 150°C for 7 h to give 0.84 g (50%) of zinc(II) bis-triflimide.
