Analysis based on total hospital benefits paid to private hospitals per bed day indicates annual percentage growth as follows: 1990-91, 9.3 percent; 1991-92, 6.8 percent; 1992-93, 4.2 percent; 1993-94, 2.9 percent; 1994-95, 3.3 percent; 1995-96, 40.3 percent; 1996-97, 5.3 percent; 1997-98, 0.2 percent; 1998-99,0 percent; 1999-2000,5.1 percent.
