20. During our January 1996 survey we were assisted by the late Professor A. Khlop'ev and in May 1996 by V.K. Levashev.
21. Our 1995-96 surveys consisted of a representative sample of 1,600 young people aged between 18 and 29 years from 12 regions of the Russian Federation and were post-weighted by age, sex, education and locality.
22. We are grateful to V.G. Andreenkov for his help with this exit poll. This sample of 1,600 young people was part of a larger group of 9,400 in the first and 9,300 in the second round.
