29. ij·u is the pair velocity projected along u, the unit vector selecting the longitudinal or transverse dynamics. This holds exactly for purely vibrational dynamics, and is very well verified in the case of supercooled water and argon at the melting density (Refs. 18 and 20).

We preferred to use a single band in order to have a greater readability in ΔB* and VCF figures.
