9. Care should be taken while dealing with the sign for H. Figure 1(c) uses Cartesian coordinates. Figure 2 and all the equations use polar coordinates. In Fig. l(c), since H is a Cartesian coordinate, H in the second quadrant is -(negative). However, the same H is + (positive) with θ = 180° in the case of polar coordinate system. In this article, the "+" or "-" sign of the H field follows the polar coordinate system.
