    • These analyses are not corrected for coincidence, that is the simultaneous passage of two or more particles through the Coulter aperture tube. This coincidence varies with sample concentration, and gives rise to small peaks or shoulders on the right side of the main peak, in particular for narrow disperse samples. In those cases we were able to verify by SEM or optical microscopy that there were in fact no particles in that size range.
