Indeed, within the context of the slow-roll approximation, it follows that if the logarithmic derivative of the potential increases as the field rolls down its potential (as is to be expected for a single field inflation model that is undergoing a smooth exit), the slow-roll parameter (12) also increases monotonically with decreasing V(Φ).
