    • The space charges in these layers will exist in both the moving plasma frame and the stationary lab frame. The electric field resulting from these charges will, however, only be seen in the lab frame. In the plasma frame the field set up by the space charge layers is canceled, to first order accuracy, by the induced v × B field that will exist in any system with a motion relative to a transverse magnetic field.
