1. The author has referred to Shell in his article to describe the activities of different Shell companies or, in places, the Royal Dutch/Shell Group of companies (the Group). In this response the words Shell and we are used in some places to refer to the Shell Petroleum Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), and in others to the Group or an individual Shell company or companies, where no particular purpose is served by identifying it or them more particularly.
