By contrast, in lattice conduction, the absence of U processes leads to a rigid displacement of the Bose-Einstein distribution, but there is no cancelling backflow corresponding to the hole current. Phonon heat conduction is convective, while the electronic current is particle-number conserving. See Ref. [3].
