In this letter, the pressure values are denoted by the piston pressure at room temperature. We have no appropriate pressure sensor available for uniaxial compression to know the exact pressure value in the measured temperature range.

At the phase transition, the resistivity sometimes falls at cooling and rises at heating, but sometimes rises at cooling and falls at heating. This is probably because of the subtlety of the resistance difference of the RT and LT phases at the transition which causes inhomogeneity of the current paths within the sample. We do not discuss the direction of the resistivity change at the transition.

The phase transition between LT and RT phases under hydrostatic pressure is not as clear as that under uniaxial compression, possibly due to the solidification of the pressure transmitting medium (Daphne 7373) in the temperature range of interest.
