    • A reviewer has pointed out that the laser beam may raise the temperature of the LC cell, resulting in the shortening in the LC relaxation time which is proportional to the viscosity. We have not measured the LC temperature upon exposure to the laser, but we believe that the increase in the LC temperature, if any, should be quite slight and just local because the laser beam (A = 360 nm and 470 nm) can be absorbed only by Az monolayer on the substrate surface
