    • Very recently it was suggested by R. Verzicco (unpublished) that the difference between model and experiment may be attributable to a diminished heat transport in the fluid due to the finite (albeit large) conductivity of the top and bottom plate. Further experimental work using end plates with higher conductivity will be required to test this suggestion.
