If using disease-controlled-days as a parameter the authors calculate that pimecrolimus is 60% as efficacious as tacrolimus after 2-4 weeks of treatment. They conclude that from disease-controlled-days, tacrolimus is more cost effective. The study relies on hypothetical calculations.
