    • This test consists of two approaching polymer layers until an initial contact is formed and following the evolution of the imposed strength during the loading and unloading steps of the experiments. A feature of the JKR test is the hemispheric shape of one or both bodies to brought into contact. The choice of this geometry involves the removal of bulk viscoelastic effects and an emphasis of the interfacial response. Moreover, the area in contact is well controlled and can be determined by sphere radius and the penetration depth in the polymer layer.
