    • Dried leaves of L. speciosa were cut into small pieces (1-3 mm square) and roasted for 15 min at 170° C. Roasted and not-roasted leaves were further dried at 50°C for 2 hr. These leaves were weighed (1 g). Seventy ml of hot water (80°C) was added to these samples and stood at 80°C for 30 min. The decoctions were cooled to room temperature and filled up to 100 ml with distilled water and filtered. After the first filtrate (approx. 20 ml) was discarded, following filtrates were subjected to quantitative analysis descrided in this paper.
