    • Absorption spectra of solutions containing excess fluoride are very pH dependent, the λ = 430 nm band increases in intensity and shifts to slightly longer wavelengths at pH > 3. Since the spectrum of the aqua complex does not change up to pH 6.5, the yellowish species obtained at higher pH and observed by Straumanis must be a titanium(II) fluoro complex.
