    • Our observations via NMR spectroscopy show that incorporation of TBAm results in a new peak at ∼1.2 ppm attributed to the protons on the tert-butyl groups. This is in addition to a peak at ∼1.0 ppm due to the protons on the isopropyl groups of NIPAm. Calculation of the ratios of these two monomers is complicated by peak overlap, but visual examination shows that as the TBAm peak grows with increasing mol% concentration, the NIPAm peak decreases, respectively.
