Alumnae Achievement Award winner

The Boston School's course in plumbing left an enduring impression on one student, who remembered many years later how she had "learned to read plans and talk the lingo about joists and stresses and pipes - lead pipes versus galvanized versus iron." Years later, she still remembered the power of this knowledge, claiming proudly, "I could put the fear of God into a Boston housing inspector." See "Alumnae Achievement Award winner," Simmons Review (Summer 1961), p. 31.
