    • Irradiations were performed in benzene as the solvent under a nitrogen atmosphere in Rayonet chamber reactors using 3000 Å lamps. All product ratios were determined by proton NMR analyses (250 MHz) of the crude reaction mixtures at several points in time and extrapolated to low conversions in order to avoid secondary effects. The reactions were not driven to full completion (10–35%) and the chemoselectivity (>90%) was determined from the NMR spectral analyses of the crude reaction mixtures. Mesitylene was used as an internal standard to determine the mass balance (>90% for all runs)
