9. Zero modes were neglected in deriving Eq. (4), which is justified under broad conditions, as discussed in detail in Ref. [9]: if the condensate is large, the number of zero modes per unit volume tends to zero in the limit V→∞ and they contribute a fraction of the total condensate that vanishes as 1/√V.
