It is worth noting that the particular values of R and the naphthalene-naphthalene separation in the trimer, as derived from the measured rotational constants, are dependent on the naphthalene monomer geometries. Presumably, this is the reason that the naphthalene-naphthalene separation quoted herein is slightly different than that quoted in ref 10, despite agreement between the trimer's rotational constants in the two works.
