Amplification of a cyclic mixed-metalloporphyrin tetramer from a dynamic combinatorial library through orthogonal metal coordination
-
Stulz E, Ng YF, Scott SM, Sanders JKM: Amplification of a cyclic mixed-metalloporphyrin tetramer from a dynamic combinatorial library through orthogonal metal coordination. Chem Comm (2002) (5):524-525. A macrocycle containing two Zn- and two Rh-porphyrins is amplified by exposing a DCL to a bipyridine template. Amplification is quantitative, convincingly demonstrating that shifts in the DCL equilibrium induced by host-guest interactions can be very significant.

-
Otto S, Furlan RL, Sanders JKM: Selection and amplification of hosts from dynamic combinatorial libraries of macrocyclic disulfides. Science (2002) 297(5581):590-593. This paper demonstrates how molecular recognition-induced amplification of a receptor remains significant in a library of considerable size and diversity. In addition, the observation that guests are able to selectively amplify their best receptor in the presence of other receptors with smaller but similar binding constants is encouraging.
