In this case, 2�mM added salt suppresses electrostatic coupling, and the observed attraction was ascribed to wetting effects at the hydrophobic surfaces.
16. Measurements on poly(methyl methacrylate) spheres also show confinement-induced attractions (J. Crocker, Ph.D. thesis, The University of Chicago, 1996), but these may have been influenced by hydrodynamic effects
