8. Other benzazetidines are hardly known in the literature (see ref. 1). They could be good precursors of aza-ortho-xylylenes, but, except of N-phenyl-benzazetidine (13), synthesis of these simple compounds is troublesome and literature procedures, according to our experiments, are irreproducible (Lancaster M. and Smith D.J.H, J. Chem. Soc., Chem. Commun., 471 (1980)).
