36. The complete picture is obtained when the scans in Fig. 1(e) are taken at different incidence angles of the x-rays on the sample. The variations of the incidence angle are redundant in terms of the reciprocal space and the kinematical theory, but in a real experiment they control the depth and the illuminated area inside the sample.
