    • Journals were selected to include all of the journals indexed by Periodical Abstracts- Research II which featured book reviews. The minimum number of reviews for a journal to be included was arbitrarily set at 75 published in the period September 1992–October 1993. This insured the inclusion of a variety of both trade and scholarly journals for comaprison.
