    • Among others, feminist economic historian Ulla Wikander claims that 'we will in the overall perspective discover that one of the most important organising principles in society, apart from class, race and religion, is genus. It is all about a difference between men and women that is culturally, socially and economically created, according to a so-called genus system' (Ulla Wikander, 'Kvinnohistoria - vetenskap om makt och relationer', Kvinnovetenskaplig Tidskrift, 3-4 (1989), p. 42). Ulla Wikander also used the term genus history, a research perspective that studies not only the power relationship between women and men but also the relationship between women.
