    • It was verified in a separate experiment that the observed signal resulted really from an interaction of the phenoxyl radical with the catalyst: Phenoxyl radicals generated with lead dioxide were mixed with the catalyst leading to the same signal in UV/Vis spectrum with a maximum at λ = 707 nm.
