    • note
    • Until March 1997, the actual length of each period for which statistics were given was normally from 6 a.m. on Day 1 to 6 a.m. on Day 29, Day 1 of the next period beginning at 6 a.m. on that same day. Actual usage of the datasets between 12 midnight and 6 a.m. can however be reasonably assumed to be negligible. Therefore, for the purposes of this analysis each period has been assumed to run from 12 midnight on the first day to 12 midnight on the final day. Any usage which occurred in the six hours before the official end of the period is counted as having occurred during the previous day. From March 1997, BIDS supplied the statistics in periods corresponding to calendar months.
