    • The post-positivist counterclaim is that the grounds for proposing change are to do with normative judgements anyway. Many post-positivists are very concerned with change, and are often involved in normative projects. Post-positivists 'simply reject the notion that there is any clear epistemological warrant for these [normative] choices'. I owe this point to a conversation with Steve Smith.
