Graham[11] criticizes AACR2 for its approach towards describing serials and states that there are structural, philosophical and practical problems with that approach

For example, AACR2 rule 25.1A provides that:“Base the decision whether to use a uniform title in a particular instance on: (1) How well the work is known, (2) How many manifestations of the work are involved, (3) Whether the main entry is under the title, (4) Whether the work was originally in another language, (5) The extent to which the catalogue is used for research purposes
