    • If the length of the hydrocarbon chain of the surfactant is increased, the hydrophobicity and consequently the equilibrium constant of the surfactant-CD complex would also increase. This increase in the complexation equilibrium constant would imply a reduction in the concentration of free cyclodextrin in equilibrium with the micellar system once the latter had formed.
