31. The characterization of complex 1 proved to be very difficult (see Supporting Information). For example, a very weak parent ion was observed only once after repeated mass spectroscopic attempts by FAB (UCLA and UC Riverside). Also, due to the difficulty in synthesizing complex 1, in part due to the extreme light-/air-sensitive nature of 2, there was insufficient material available for submission of 1 for elemental analysis.
