14. Rather than use a full numeric simulation to calculate the plasma length, we the simplification that the plasma ends where the vacuum fields equal half the plasma central potential. This simplification is based on calculations in A. J. Peurrung and, J. Fajans, Phys. Fluids B PFBPEI 2, 693(1990), and has proven to be accurate in the past.
