    • TEM images were recorded on a JEOL 1200EX microscope at 120 kV. Samples for TEM analysis were prepared by drop-casting films of the PTA nanoparticles onto carbon-coated TEM grids. Spot-profile EDX analysis of Au core-Ag shell nanoparticles was carried out on solution-cast films on Si (111) wafer in a Leica Stereoscan scanning electron microscope equipped with a Phoenix EDX attachment.
