    • Rothschild JM, Lee TH, Bae T, et al.: Clinician use of a palmtop drug reference guide. J Am Med Inform Assoc 2002, 9:223-229. The authors evaluated the clinical contribution of a drug database developed for the handheld computer. Physicians reported that ePocrates Rx saves time during information retrieval, is easily incorporated into their usual workflow, and improves drug-related decision making. They also believed that it reduced the rate of preventable adverse drug events.

A system using hand-held computers allowing physicians in the hospital setting to access their surgical schedules, to track patients in multiple hospitals, and to quickly enter billing information is described. The system was successfully implemented, it was well accepted by clinicians and staff users, and it showed an increased capture of charges.
